Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows. It is where realistic hair-like strokes are drawn with a handheld blade and pigment is implanted into the skin. Each individual hair-stroke is hand drawn and is intended to blend seamlessly with your natural eyebrow hair. Microblading is best for normal/dry skin. It can be applied to oily skin, but strokes may not heal as crisp and touch ups may be needed more often. Can last 1-2 years depending on skin type and lifestyle.n answer to this item.
PowderBrows is a form of permanent makeup that creates gorgeous, filled in eyebrows. It is a shading technique where pigment is implanted into the skin with a permanent makeup machine/pen. It creates a very soft, powdery "makeup-like" look. Unlike traditional tattoos, this technique is only applied to the top layers of the skin and is intended to fade over time. It is best for all skin types and is recommended over Microblading for those with oily skin. Can last 1-3 years depending on skin type and lifestyle.
The inital appointment usually takes a total of 2.5-3 hours. This consists of a consult, brow mapping and grooming, and the procedure. The brows are shaped and measured according to your facial features and the color is matched most closely to your natural eyebrow hair. The shape of the brow and color is always consulted with you and approved before the treatment begins.
A topical anesthetic gel is used for numbing after opening the skin with the first pass and during your procedure. Everyone's pain tolerance is different and anesthetic can be adjusted during the appointment to ensure you are comfortable. Most clients report little pain and compare it more to tiny scratches or tweezing, its usually rated a 3-4 out of 10 (10 being the most painful). Consuming caffeine before your treatment could affect how your body absorbs the numbing. You also can be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. Extra Strength Tylenol may be taken before for low pain tolerance (NO Advil/Ibuprofen).
The true healing process takes about 4 weeks, but the aftercare portion is about 7-10 days. There is no downtime, you can go about your day immediately after your appointment. In the first 7-10 days you will need to AVOID getting them too wet (in shower/washing your face/swimming), working out (no sweating), sun exposure and no makeup on your eyebrows. Aftercare kit and instructions will be given at your appointment. It is EXTREMELY important to follow your aftercare since it makes up 70% of the treatment success. You have a major role in how your brows heal!
Your brows will go through different stages during the healing process. The first few days your brows will appear very dark and thick. Once healed they shrink about 10-15% and lighten about 20-40%. Your brows will then start to flake after a few days, please do not pick at your brows as that can cause pigment loss. The healing process will have many different stages but I ask that you trust the process.
Healing will vary with skin type. Loss of pigment and fading color is completely normal and is assessed and refreshed at your 4 week touch up session.
Since the treatment is a two step process, you will return for the required touch up 4-10 weeks after your initial appointment. After that, there are annual or semi-annual touch ups that can be done as needed. It is not recommended to have touch ups done less than 6 months apart.
The retention of your brows is different for everyone depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Cosmetic tattoos are meant to fade over time. Touch ups are recommended every 1-2 years. Very oily skin, excess sun exposure, extreme sweating (working out), facials, chemical peels, anti-aging products and exfoliation will all have an effect on the preservation of your tattoo.

Everyone's pain tolerance is different but most clients rate the pain level at a 4-6 out of 10. Consuming caffeine before your treatment will not allow the numbing to absorb properly into the skin. You also can be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. Extra Strength Tylenol may be taken before for low pain tolerance (NO Advil/Ibuprofen).

This treatment can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus. Even if you haven’t had a cold sore in years, this can activate the virus and cause an outbreak (which will also affect the healed result).
To prevent cold sores from flaring up, it is highly recommended you have your Physician prescribe an antiviral medication and start taking it a few days before the appointment, the day of and a few days after the appointment.
